Sephora X review and Chaotic NOTD!

Hi everyone! I'm so excited about today's review and NOTD! Sephora X is the new nail polish line that was recently launched at Sephora's all over. Sephora X is a revolutionary polish that is supposed to have outstanding application, wear, and superb finishes. There is a huge array of colors and topcoats that if you have seen them, then you know they are drool worthy! So thanks to my awesome job at Sephora, I was able to bring home a Formula X system with one nail polish and one Xplosive top coat called Chaotic.

The formula X system consists of a nail cleanser, a base coat, and a top coat. The cleanser cleans the nail of any oils and residue and preps the nail for the base coat. The base coat is a sticky base coat that adheres the nail polish to your nail, and the top coat protects the nail lacquer while drying and providing shine. This system is pretty awesome. I'm on my second mani right now using this system and I really like it. My mani lasted almost a week without chipping and that's great considering that I work with my hands a lot and constantly wash my hands. The nail cleanser does help because you always need a clean nail base for optimal nail polish wear. So I wanted to wear a base color that I love but haven't worn in a while. I chose Zoya Dove to wear over the Formula X base coat.

 

Then I added one coat of Sephora X Chaotic. This is part of their Xplosives collection which consists of awesome glitter topcoats that resemble confetti! Chaotic has different shaped black and white flat glitter with some bar glitter mixed in.

 

 

This is only one coat! And it applied effortlessly! Each brush stroke was chock full of glitter! These pics are with Sephora X Top coat.

So in conclusion, I am very impressed with the new Sephora X line. There is a huge array of colors and topcoats to choose from so there's something for everyone. I strongly suggest the formula X system at Sephora. You get the nail cleanser, base coat, and top coat for $32 plus you get a nail polish of your choice! The regular colors are $10.50 each and the special finishes and top coats like Chaotic are $12.50. Go to your local Sephora and check them out! Breast Cancer Awareness month NOTD!

Hey everyone! Today I have a special post. October is breast cancer awareness month and I have too many women in my family who have fallen victim to this. I am very thankful that these brave women are still alive and doing well. So I decided to do this mani and I spoke about what it represented to everyone who asked me about my mani at work. Pink is the color to represent Breast Cancer awareness so I used three different pink nail polishes. I first started with three coats of OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! from last years OPI Spring collection. Then I added Orly Be Brave from last years Breast Cancer awareness collection and the flash FX collection, with Zoya Arabella on the accent nail which is from the latest Zoya Pixie dust collection.

 

I really loved this mani! This was the first time I wore Zoya Arabella and it didn't disappoint. I never get tired of textured polishes and this one is gorgeous. And I love the pink holo bar glitter of Orly Be Brave. It can be a little tricky to apply but it's beautiful on the nail. Thanks so much for checking out my blog!

NOTD Illamasqua Omen pics and review!!

Hello lovelies, so a few weeks back I picked up Illamasqua Omen nail polish from the Summer 2013 Paranormal collection. I wish I would have picked up all three of these gorgeous neon colors!! Omen is a shimmery neon green. I put Omen on last night and first of all the formula is like buttah! It went on so effortlessly and smooth and that's rare for a neon! This is just two coats!!

 

I love this color so much!! I wish I had a UV light too because this glows under UV light!! I know Illamasqua polishes are a bit pricey at $17.00 a pop but the formula is pretty awesome and they have some great colors, finishes and textures! NOTD China Glaze Tart-y for the Party with Nails Inc. Fibre Optic Mayfair Mews!!

Hey everyone! So the other day I wanted to put on something glittery and funky. I had just gotten Nails Inc. Fibre optic Mayfair Mews from my Sephora so I wanted to try it!

 

• This is part of a new line released by Nails Inc. Mayfair Mews is a clear base jam packed with purple and holo bar glitter. I have a love hate relationship with bar glitter. I love the way it looks but hate the way it applies. I hate when the glitter sticks off my nails! Anyway, first I applied two coats of China Glaze Tart-y for the Party which is such a pretty lavender. This is from the 2013 spring collection. I haven't tried it yet so this was perfect.

Then I added one coat of Nails Inc. Mayfair Mews. I think they had another nail polish of the same name too! Anyway, the application was pretty easy. The brush was packed with glitter and I didn't have too much trouble with the glitter sticking off my nail. I had to place some of it.

The holo bar glitter didn't photograph well but it's there in person. I received a lot of compliments from other glitter junkies!! As you can see I had some scattered glitter here and there but not too bad.

 

Here's a closeup of Mayfair Mews. You can see the scattered holo bar glitter. I topped this with one coat of gelous gel top coat and seche vite. This mani lasted almost a whole week without chipping!! Have any of you picked up any of these Nails Inc Fibre Optic polishes? Thanks for reading!!

NOTD Essie For the Twill of it!

Hey everyone! I'm so loving the Fall nail polish collections so far!! I picked up Essie For the Twill of it from their 2013 Fall collection at Rite Aid the other day. It's a duo chrome beauty!! The entire collection is pretty but I really wanted For the Twill of it. This is an almost purple green blue duo chrome. In person, this is a duo chrome beauty!! You can see the shifts of color with no problem. And the formula is pretty awesome! Two coats and this baby is opaque!! It was difficult to capture the duo chrome on camera but this is two coats of Essie For the Twill of it:

I love this!! I hate getting a duo chrome and the formula is streaky, thin, and sheer but this one is opposite! I believe this is a dupe for Julep Blakely too. I don't own Blakely but I have seen it and it looks very similar to this Essie version. NOTD Marc Jacobs edition!! OPI Onyx with China Glaze Nova

Hey everyone! So some of you already know that I work for Sephora and a couple of weeks ago, the Marc Jacobs beauty collection was released and it's been a huge success! So to celebrate the launch of his collection at my job, we had to wear black and shiny nails along with wearing the makeup to match the packaging of his makeup line. I searched through my stash and wanted to do something simple yet different. I chose OPI Black Onyx as a base and chose China Glaze Nova on top. I just did a reverse gradient and an accent nail using Nova. I was very happy how it came out!

Oh just in case you don't know, Marc Jacobs also has a new line of nail polishes!! I can't wait to try those out!! Stay tuned!! Thanks for reading!!

NOTD Orly Mayhem Mentality topped with China Glaze Scattered and Tattered

So I'm trying to catch up with my NOTD's from August, so here is an awesome combo I recently wore. I was in the mood for a neon polish so I put on three coats of Orly Mayhem Mentality from their summer 2013 Mash Up collection. This is an awesome neon orange polish that dries to a semi matte finish. I needed three coats on it's own but if you use a white polish underneath then two coats should be fine.



Orly Mayhem Mentality, this is way more neon in person. This was the best my camera can get but this is much brighter. This is three coats without topcoat.

Then I decided to add one coat of China Glaze Scattered and Tattered from the Glitz n pieces collection on top. Such an awesome combo! I've previously reviewed this collection. Scattered and Tattered is a clear base with different size black glitter and orange glitter.
