NOTD Essie I'm Addicted swatch and review with Color Club Something New

Hello! Technically summer hasn't started but I hope everyone is enjoying this summer like weather in New York. One thing I love about the summer is all the bright nail polish collections! Last week I wore Essie I'm Addicted from the Too Taboo summer 2014 collection. It's the only one I picked up from that collection because I have a weakness for blue nail polishes! I'm Addicted is a bright blue that has almost a jelly consistency. I used three coats to get opacity. The formula itself is great, easy to apply, and if you put it over a white base coat then all you need is two coats. Here is Essie I'm Addicted:

I wore it by itself for two days then I added Color Club Something New which is a clear base with white and light blue different shaped glitter. I love this!! Tons of white glitter on each brush stroke! This is just one coat of Color Club Something New:

I'm really loving the newer Color Club polishes! I've always liked Color Club but the newer collections are spectacular!!

Essie NOTD On a Silver Platter review and Sephora X Law of Attraction! Dupes!!

Hey everyone! Today I have a review of Essie On a Silver Platter. This polish is from the Essie 2013 Encrusted Treasures Holiday collection. This collection consists of all types of glitter and textured polishes. I picked this up a couple of weeks ago because it looked so gorgeous in the bottle. On a Silver Platter is a gold shimmer polish with blue holo glitter of all sizes. I read a lot of bad reviews on this polish but I like it. Here are two coats:

The polish itself is a little sheer, you can add three coats but I stuck with two. This sparkles so pretty in the light. I received a lot of compliments on this mani. I also found a dupe of this while at Sephora. Here is Sephora X Law of Attraction:

This is an exact dupe! Same formula, applies the same, not too thick, not too thin. Same size glitter and everything. So if you can't find one you can get the other. The Sephora x version is $12.50 at Sephora and Essie prices vary from $5-10 depending on where you buy them. They are a little difficult to remove so prepare yourself for that. Other than that, I love this nail polish and I plan on using it again before the holidays are over! Thanks for reading!! Happy Holidays!!

NOTD Essie For the Twill of it!

Hey everyone! I'm so loving the Fall nail polish collections so far!! I picked up Essie For the Twill of it from their 2013 Fall collection at Rite Aid the other day. It's a duo chrome beauty!! The entire collection is pretty but I really wanted For the Twill of it. This is an almost purple green blue duo chrome. In person, this is a duo chrome beauty!! You can see the shifts of color with no problem. And the formula is pretty awesome! Two coats and this baby is opaque!! It was difficult to capture the duo chrome on camera but this is two coats of Essie For the Twill of it:

I love this!! I hate getting a duo chrome and the formula is streaky, thin, and sheer but this one is opposite! I believe this is a dupe for Julep Blakely too. I don't own Blakely but I have seen it and it looks very similar to this Essie version. NOTD China Glaze Surfin for Boys with Essie Shine of the Times

Hey lovies!! I hope you are all having a great summer! I've been having so much fun that I'm way behind in posts!! About a week ago I wore China Glaze Surfin for Boys from the Summer 2012 neon collection. This is such an awesome neon orange that's slightly darker and almost coral like. This color is so gorgeous!! My camera doesn't do this neon any justice! I'm in love with this neon collection!! Now I love it alone but I wanted to add some bling so I added one coat of Essie Shine of the Times. The result of this mani was pure summery gorgeousness!! The formula on Surfin for Boys was pretty good, not too thick, not too thin, I used three coats.

NOTD Essie Trophy Wife with China Glaze Fairy Dust

Hi everyone, so I've been really under the weather lately but even when I don't feel well, I always make time to do my nails because it makes me happy! So I did mine on Thursday and I'm finally posting today. I was going through my untried polishes and I know I have alot of Spring colors but it just snowed six inches here so I wasn't feeling very Spring like. I decided to wear Essie Trophy Wife from the Dive Bar collection which was released in the Fall of 2011. It's a very pretty metallic teal. The formula was pretty good, it was opaque in two coats but you have to wait for the first coat to be completely dry, otherwise you will have bald spots from dragging. I didn't photograph Trophy Wife on it's own so here is Trophy Wife with one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust:

I love Fairy Dust because it makes any polish look so much cooler!! March is a very special month for me because my birthday is in March! I'm planning a special mani for my special day but I'm not 100% sure what exactly to do but I know it will involve my favorite colors blue, teal, and green! Valentine's NOTD China Glaze Ruby Pumps with Essie Shine of the Times!

Hi everyone! Happy Valentine's Day! I've seen so many great Valentine's Day designs and I was trying to find an idea for my nails. I was going through my stash and I decided to wear China Glaze Ruby Pumps because I love it so much and I haven't worn it in a while. This was my very first China Glaze I ever purchased and still one of my top three favorite polishes ever! Here is three coats:

Ugh! I broke this thumb nail yesterday and it sucked!!!

Now Ruby Pumps is absolutely gorgeous on it's own but I wanted to jazz it up a little more. I added one coat of Essie Shine of the Times and OMG!! I cannot describe how magnificent that turned out!

I love this combo so much!!! It's like I have ruby flames on my nails! I will be rockin this on V day! I can't stop staring at my nails! Here is a mini video to show the lushness of this combo:

NY Giants Victory Water Marble!!

Hey everyone! Well the NY Giants kicked butt and won yesterday. I told my fiance that if the Giants won, then I would do a mani with the NY Giants colors however he liked. He loves when I do water marbles so he suggested I do a marble. So I did a quick water marble with Essie Blanc, OPI Swimsuit nailed it, and Zoya Lisa (white, blue, red which are NY Giants colors). I actually dipped 3 fingers at a time and then two fingers at a time. I didn't do a tutorial because I just wanted to do the water marble fast, and the colors weren't the best for marbling. These colors were hard to work with, Essie Blanc was really runny, and would blend into the other colors, the blue and red were shimmers and they didn't spread as smoothly when I tried to do a design with my orange stick. All in all I consider this marble practice, I learn more and more everytime,  which colors to use, what looks good, how certain colors work etc. But anyway, woohoo Giants!! They play again next Sunday so most likely I'll do another mani using red, white and blue.

NOTD Mac Plasma Blu with Essie Shine of the Times

Hey everyone! So I finally changed my nails last night and not because I had to because the Deborah Lippmann Edge of Glory mani had not chipped or anything since Monday! I was just in the mood to paint my nails. I know I have plenty of new nail polishes to wear and photograph but I went with another old polish that I haven't worn in forever. I wanted to wear a bright shiny blue, I chose MAC Plasma Blu which is a turqoise pearlized blue. This limited edition color was part of the Neo Sci Fi collection which was released in summer 2008 back when MAC polishes were $10.00.... now they are $15.00 which is why I haven't bought a MAC polish in a long time! I now remember why I haven't worn this in a long time... I hate the formula! This polish is so thin, sheer and streaky that I needed almost 4 coats just for it to be opaque. I stopped at 3 coats:

  
I used to wear this color alot during the summer because it is a gorgeous color, I just wish the formula was better. This also looks amazing on toes! I have alot of MAC polishes that I haven't photographed so expect to see alot of them on my blog as I will be revisiting them as well as many other polishes I haven't worn in a long time. Anyway, I followed this polish with one coat of Essie Shine of the Times. I'm so happy that flakies are popular again!

I love this combo! It's like I have mermaid nails! Essie Shine of the Times is an awesome flakie topcoat. It is more packed with flakies than Nubar 2010 which I also have. I will also be reviewing the Finger Paints effects flakies as well. Well, as always thanks for reading!
