NOTD China Glaze Tart-y for the Party with Nails Inc. Fibre Optic Mayfair Mews!!

Hey everyone! So the other day I wanted to put on something glittery and funky. I had just gotten Nails Inc. Fibre optic Mayfair Mews from my Sephora so I wanted to try it!

 

• This is part of a new line released by Nails Inc. Mayfair Mews is a clear base jam packed with purple and holo bar glitter. I have a love hate relationship with bar glitter. I love the way it looks but hate the way it applies. I hate when the glitter sticks off my nails! Anyway, first I applied two coats of China Glaze Tart-y for the Party which is such a pretty lavender. This is from the 2013 spring collection. I haven't tried it yet so this was perfect.

Then I added one coat of Nails Inc. Mayfair Mews. I think they had another nail polish of the same name too! Anyway, the application was pretty easy. The brush was packed with glitter and I didn't have too much trouble with the glitter sticking off my nail. I had to place some of it.

The holo bar glitter didn't photograph well but it's there in person. I received a lot of compliments from other glitter junkies!! As you can see I had some scattered glitter here and there but not too bad.

 

Here's a closeup of Mayfair Mews. You can see the scattered holo bar glitter. I topped this with one coat of gelous gel top coat and seche vite. This mani lasted almost a whole week without chipping!! Have any of you picked up any of these Nails Inc Fibre Optic polishes? Thanks for reading!!

Nails Inc. Leather, Crystals and skulls set featuring NOHO

Hey loves! Today I have a review of the new and exciting Nails Inc. Leather, Crystals, and Skulls set featuring the awesome leather effect nail polish in NOHO. So, I am a consultant at Sephora and we received this awesome set about a week ago. One of my directors sent me home with a set so I can play with it and train the other consultants on how to use the leather and crystals set. This is what the set looks like:

 

This set includes a black leather effect nail polish in NOHO, nail glue, two orange sticks, and little crystals and skulls to put on your nails.

 

First and foremost, the nail polish is so awesome!! I wore two coats over a regular basecoat. No topcoat because that would change the texture of the polish. The result is an awesome matte textured finished that resembles old leather.

 

 

 

Ok so not only does this look amazing, but the formula is great too! NOHO dries quickly and I wore this for 3 whole days before it even chipped! That's awesome because I'm lucky if I get one day without chipping on a matte nail polish.

So then I added some of the crystals in this set. I wasn't allowed to use all of them because I have to use this set to show others at my store or else I would have blinged out all of my nails!

 

The only bummer was that my nails were actually too narrow for the skull crystals that came with the kit. They were sticking out a lot and I kept getting it snagged in my hair so I took it off and just used the regular crystals. They were really easy to glue on, and they stay on until you soak them off! They come off easily, just soak the nail in polish remover for a minute and done! All in all this kit is amazing! I love it and I love the leather effect nail polish! Very cool!! This kit sells at Sephora for $25. What do you all think of this trend?

 

 

 

My favorite polishes of 2012!!

Hello beauties! I've finally created my list of favorite nail polishes of 2012! I love reading everyone else's favorites as well. First let's start with my favorite topcoat collection! Flakies were huge in 2012 so of course who can forget the coveted Finger Paints Flake Effects collection released in January!

These are amazing! Zoya and Essie also had great flakies as well. The Finger Paints collection were limited and now hard to find but Zoya and Essie flakies are still available!
My favorite glitter collection of 2012 was the Orly flash glam FX glitters! These are just amazing! I don't own all of them but I do have a good amount!







Kudos to Orly for bringing these to us!

My favorite summer collection has to be the China Glaze neons of 2012! Hands down! They were almost all amazing! Except for one jelly, all of these were opaque and gorgeous!

Ok, enough with collections! 2012 was a year full of great nail polish collections! Here are my top 10 favorite polishes of 2012... which was difficult because I easily had like a top 30!!

NOTD Nails Inc. Pudding Lane

Hello my beauties!! Today I have another amazing nail polish! I have been wanting Nails Inc. Pudding Lane since I first saw it a few months ago on a blog. I meant to order it from Sephora but I just kept forgetting. So yesterday I was at Sephora for a job interview (Fingers crossed) and I did a little shopping before I left. I picked up Pudding Lane from the sprinkles collection which was released a few months ago. There are like four different shades in this collection and I wanted Pudding Lane more than any of the others! So as soon as I got home, I put it on and wow!! It did not disappoint!! Pudding Lane is a milky robin's egg blue creme packed with purple and gold chunky glitter. It looks like sprinkles on blue frosting hence the name Sprinkles collection! The formula is amazing! It was pretty much opaque in two coats but I used three just to cover up the very few bald spots I had. Each brushstroke was jam packed with glitter! My only gripe is that Nails Inc. bottles are .33 oz as opposed to .50 oz that most other polishes like OPI and China Glaze are. So for $9.50 you get alot less product. Oh and this dries to a really gritty texture. I added one coat of Gelous gel nail coat and then a thick coat of Seche Vite and my mani ended up way smoother than if I didn't use Gelous. Here is three coats of Pudding Lane:

NOTD Orly Be Brave over Nails Inc. Chelsea

Hi everyone!! I can't believe it's September already!! This summer flew by! Anyway, today I have for you Orly Be Brave. Be Brave is part of the new uber mega glitter Glam FX collection that Orly recently put out. Be Brave is a pink holo bar glitter in a clear base. The formula is ok, you can't just brush on bar glitter, you have to pretty much dab it on. I'm usually not a huge fan of bar glitter because it sticks out over the nail and it's annoying to apply, but Be Brave isn't so bad and I really love how it looks on my nails! Here's is two coats over Nails Inc. Chelsea which is a plum black:

 

I love this combo! These pics are with a glossy topcoat, after two days I added a matte topcoat:

 

 

The matte topcoat adds a really cool flat effect. I really like it! I really like this glitter and I can't wait to get even more glitters from this collection! What do you think of bar glitter? Thanks for reading!

NOTD Nails Inc. Connaught Square

Hello lovlies! So last night I was in the mood for some glitter polish and I wanted to wear something blue since it's still autism awareness month, I looked in my untried stash and I picked out Nails Inc. Connaught Square. Connaught Square is part of the Nails Inc. 3D glitter collection. It is a clear base densely packed with blue glitter and hexagon shaped purple glitter. I used three coats for full opaque coverage. I love the look of this glitter but it is very gritty. This is the second glitter in this collection that I have tried and both have been very gritty on the nail. I even used a thick coat of Gelous nail gel and a thick coat of Seche Vite and it's still gritty on my nail. That was a bummer. These glitters are also very hard to take off, so expect to use the foil method on these! Other than that, Connaught Square is very pretty and sparkly. I'm pretty sure Wet n wild has a dupe for this polish, I think it's called "Believe me, it's real". But I haven't tried it myself. Nails Inc. Connaught Square is sold at Sephora for $9.50.
